Simulator Visit at Aldergrove

1137 Cadets visited JHC Aldergrove to fly the Air Training Corp’s flight simulator. The simulator, featuring four screens and fully functioning controls allowed the cadets to practice their handling skills flying around the Belfast area in all sorts of aircraft before carrying out textbook, or not so textbook landings!
Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme

Cadets from Northern Ireland Wing, including some from 1137 squadron travelled to France to take part in a ceremony to mark the 94th anniversary of the Battle Of the Somme in the First World War.
1137 Cadet Gains Instructor Rating

Congratulations to Sergeant Thompson who has been awarded his C category gliding instructors rating, he is now the youngest gliding instructor in Northern Ireland and qualified to take other cadets on training flights! This is a massive achievement and reflects the hard work and enormous effort he has made over the past two years. Well done JT!
Cadets take flight at Woodvale AEF

Cadets made an early morning trip from Belfast International bound for Liverpool to go Air Experience Flying at RAF Woodvale. For three cadets it was their first time taking the controls of an aircraft whilst some others choose to undertake some aerobatics! All thoroughly enjoyed the day and can't wait to go flying again.
